About
“I Was Training to Become a Professional Pilot Until Life Grounded Me —
… and Redirected Me Towards Healing.”
I was a latecomer to the fascinating world of alternative therapy — although, looking back now, perhaps my life experiences were preparing me for it all along.
In my twenties, my life was heading in a completely different direction. My dream was to become a professional pilot, and after intense years of preparation I was accepted by an international European airline. It felt as though my future had finally opened up before me. Then everything changed overnight. The offer was withdrawn when it was discovered that my nationality came from a country which was not part of the European Union at the time.
One administrative detail instantly grounded the dream I had built my future around.
What felt devastating then became one of the biggest turning points of my life.
So, at the age of thirty, in 1992, I made a bold and unexpected decision: I would leave behind my work as a secretary, give up my pursuit of becoming a professional pilot, change countries, and retrain as an osteopath and naturopath. At that time I was considered a “mature” student and had to pass additional entrance exams before even being accepted into training.
Returning to intensive study after years away from education and years of studying lying ahead was challenging, but it was a challenge I gladly accepted. My curiosity, purpose, and the development of a deep fascination with the human body and its ability to heal started (and hasn’t left me since).
There were many exciting moments: from discovering how a knee is formed, working on and with colleagues through the various manual techniques, and many others. But the best moment was when I was allowed for the very first time to treat real patients under supervision. Seeing with my own eyes that what I had learned could genuinely help another person was unforgettable. It was not only exciting — it felt deeply meaningful.
Over time and with experience I realised that health was far more than structure alone. While osteopathy gave me a profound understanding of the body, my world expanded dramatically, both personally and professionally, when I discovered Brain Gym® from Educational Kinesiology, and Touch for Health. It gives me a much clearer understanding how movement, stress, emotions, learning patterns, digestion, sleep, posture, coordination, and the nervous system are all interconnected.
It changed my approach as to which questions to ask and the answers I received produced a much more detailed and in-depth picture of a person.
My work gradually shifted from mostly passive treatment towards helping people actively participate in their own healing and development. Now, using muscle testing, movement, brain and nervous system regulation, and body-based approaches, I help clients reconnect brain and body so they can think more clearly, move more freely, regulate stress better, and access and improve their natural potential.
Having studied many different therapies over the years, because my curiosity never stops, I bring together a unique wholistic perspective that bridges structure, movement, neuroscience, behaviour, feelings, learning, and overall wellbeing.
Today I am passionate about educating both children and adults to not only better understand their own body, brain, and nervous system as it directly shapes our health and joy of life – but to learn how to use it to their advantage so their unique abilities can develop.
Ironically, although I never became a pilot, my sense of exploration, adventure and discovery never stopped. It just got a new direction as there is nothing more fascinating then the uniqueness of every single human being and their feelings, thoughts and power of expression.
